Results of Questionnaire

Nogizaka 46 is one of the most famous groups in Japan (and amazingly in Asia, too!) . In Meiji University, there is a student who was a member of Nogizaka 46 E EMs. Chiharu Saito.

Chiharu Saito belongs to the Department of Literature and majors in Theater Studies. The reason she decided enter this department is that she has been interested in theater performance, musicals and so on. Few schools have a major in Theater Studies but Meiji has! When she attended the trial lesson, it was different to what she imagined. However, it is of course interesting for her so she decided to enter Meiji University. Especially, she is interested in “Les Misérables Eand this is the theme of her Graduation Thesis.

During her first, second, third and four years at Meiji, she belonged to Nogizaka 46. We can easily imagine she was very busy. What was hard for her was class attendance. Of course, it is important for students! The hardest thing for her was her final exams. What is the most amazing was that immediately after she took a final exam, she had to go to Osaka for a concert and sometimes she had no time to have a rehearsal.

Her university life was full of business. However, of course there were happy things for her, too. For example, before she entered Meiji University, she was worried that she would not be able to make friends but she was able to make friends and she has been getting along with her friends until now. She is sincerely grateful that she could meet her friends. Of course, for everybody, friends are very important for life. Ms. Saito said the best memory of her school life was broadening her mind. While she was a member of Nogizaka 46, she worked so hard that her world was limited to the group. She thinks that only by entering out university could see a varied world. The various classes she took and the friends she made at this university have broadened her mind. Ms. Saito also thinks it is important for university students in school life to find something interesting and work hard for it, for example, study, sports, club activity, and so on. By working hard for something you find interesting, you can get the sense of achievement. This sense of achievement will make you confident and is for your own good.

Ms. Saito gave Meiji’s students a message. School life in Meiji University has passed just like a moment for her. Thus, for example, spending this irreplaceable time with our nice friends and finding our own dream is very important. By experiencing many things, we can become mature and our school life can be fruitful. This is what she hopes for us. Additionally, when we think back on our university life, if we can judge that it has been fruitful, this is the best experience. Finally, Ms. Saito said the reason why she decided to be interviewed is because she was not able to find something she could work hard at during her university life. This is a small regret for her and she wants to help us. This means, to our joy, she admires US as people who are trying to follow our dream  Eshe always assists people to follow their dream. What a wonderful person she is! She is an inspiration.

    • Fire ants live in South America and Southeast Asia. Fire ants came to Japan on board a ship. Fire ants have a reddish brown body with white legs. They live in the dry grassland of South America. If you are bitten by a fire ant, the symptoms to the poison of fire ant are different by human. Some people have an allergic shock, but most of them have no distinctions in their lives. The best method of its treatment is to rest.

    • Sightseeing in London

How many sightseeing sites in England do you know? There are really a lot, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Palace, London Tower, London Eye, Stonehenge, Wembley Stadium, etc.

      Results of Quesntionnaire

117 people answered a questionnaire on sightseeing in London. They included the teachers, who are foreigners, and the Meiji university students. According to the results of the questionnaire, the most famous sightseeing place is Big Ben.

      Big Ben

Everybody knows Big Ben as the most famous place in England. The tower was attached to Westminster Palace in 1859 by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. He constructed Westminster Palace too. The first name of the tower was the Clock Tower. In 2012, the name was changed to Elizabeth Tower. Big Ben is actually the name of the bell inside the Elizabeth Tower that chimes the hour.

According to the latest news, Big Ben does not ring now. On September 22, 2017, Big Ben chimed for the last time before falling silent for four years. The iconic bell will remain silent until 2021, while conservation work is carried out. The chimes emanating from the bell have kept time in the British capital for 157 years. Big Ben will continue to chime for important national events such as New Year's Eve.

    • Introduction: Vatican City

Do you know the Vatican? Maybe, a lot of Japanese hardly know much about this country. The Vatican City is an independent country. It's located in the northwestern part of Rome. It has an area of only 0.44 square km, making the Vatican the smallest country in the world.

The Christians had been persecuted by successive Roman emperors. In 313, the Roman Emperor Constantine accepted Christianity. In 324, Saint Peter's Basilica was built on the place where it is said that St. Peter became a martyr. The Vatican history begins here. In 1870, Italy was unified, and the Pope lost territory in other parts of Italy. After that, the fight continued between the boards of the Pope and Italian state. In 1929, they concluded the Lateran Treaty, and the Vatican City was born.

    • The Ancient City of Kyoto

Do you know Kyoto? For example, green tea, the autumn leaves, yuba, maiko, and so on. Kyoto was the capital a very long time ago. So there is a lot of Japanese traditional culture and buildings in Kyoto even now. If you go to Kyoto, you can feel relaxed and come to like its atmosphere. Maybe you will lose enough time to go around and do all the sightseeing you want because all of the places are very comfortable. At such times how do you decide where to go? By dice or lottery? This article will tell you about where you should visit. That's Kinkaku-ji Temple.

According to our survey, most people have been to Kyoto. Kinkaku-ji Temple is very popular, so I think a lot of tourists go there. But many people don't know much about Kinkaku-ji Temple. Here is some information so you can enjoy Kinkaku-ji Temple more and more.

At first, Kinkaku-ji Temple was only the nickname. Half of people knew that, but the other people didn't know. The original name of Kinkaku-ji Temple was Rokuon-ji Temple. Why is Rokuon-ji Temple called Kinkakuji-Temple? Because "Kinkaku" means Shariden. "Shari" means bone and Shariden worship the shari, or bones, of Buddha.
Next, Kinkaku-ji Temple was rebuilt in the Showa era, in 1955, because of a fire in 1950. It cost 28 million when the average monthly salary in Japan was only ¥13 thousand!
Finally, Kinkaku-ji Temple used 20kg gold to build. Now one gram of gold is about ¥5000 on the market. So 20kg gold cost ?100 million. Kinkaku-ji Temple stays beautiful with a lot of effort. Why don't you go to Kinkaku-ji Temple?

    • Sightseeing in London

Why don't you eat out? Most students who live alone do not cook. This is very surprising. But, few people cook several times a week. Many people are busy everyday. So, cooking when they are busy is very nice. Many people will experience living alone in the future. Even if they live alone, most people will not cook everyday. This graph will encourage you to start living alone as you don't have to cook every day in the future.

      Student Recipes

Student recipes are more familiar than those from an ordinary cookbook. Thus, we gathered recipes from a questionnaire. These recipes have a rough process. They are made by eye measure when cooking, so everyone who wrote the recipes wrote only how they made them. For that reason there are not exact.

      Omelet with Fried Rice
First, put bacon in a frying pan and stir-fry, then add cabbage, salt and pepper and stir-fry. Second, put the rice in the frying pan and taste it with ketchup and a little salt and pepper. Then, serve on a plate. Next, mix two eggs, mayonnaise, salt and pepper, and sugar. When you put mayonnaise the egg becomes fluffy. Then, put the eggs in a heated pan in two portions. Mix at once to make it fluffy. Finally, serve the eggs on the rice.

      Minestrone
First, stir-fry olive oil and garlic. Next, add vegetables that you like and sausage. Then, add water, canned tomato and consomme. Finally, simmer for about ten minutes.

      Potato Salad
First, First, boil some potatoes and carrots. Finally, mix carrots, cucumbers, ham, and mayonnaise into potatoes

      Consomme Soup
First, put olive oil in a pot. Next, add the vegetables you like in the pot (e.g., cabbage, carrots, onions, corn, bacon). Then, fry for 5 minutes. Next, add water to the pot. Next, after you put bacon in the pot. Finally, add consomm? to the pot.
